Rideless days

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

I hate it when this happens… you get out the Hog, start her up, and she sounds like she has the flu! That means no riding for us!

When we rode two weekends ago, the bike sounded horrible, and we found that the primary cover and rocker cover were leaking. So, we had to take the bike in to Mountain Creek Harley today (Denny riding in the pouring rain to Dalton to get there) for a massive tune up.

Since we were taking it in for that, Denny decided he also wanted to have the radio checked because it has been very ’scratchy sounding’ and have the fuel gauge repaired, as it has been quirky and does not show us how much gas we have.

Luckily, we have the Harley-Davidson Extended Service Plan Fender-to-Fender protection for a while longer, so it won’t break the bank to get things done.

I can’t wait to get her back good as new - it is Spring! Time to ride!

Oahu Hawaii, Day 4

Today we needed to take the bike back to Cycle City, so we took the scenic route to Honolulu.

Oahu Hawaii, Day 3

Sunday, June 10th, 2007

Today we rented a bike from Cycle City, and were ready to ride. We got a Road King, and let me tell you - riding a bike that is NOT mine is NOT something I want to do again soon! The seat was so very uncomfortable, that it hurt to sit more than 10 minutes! The ride was amazing despite the pain in the butt.

We rode up Tantalus Drive up to Round Top - however, we had to turn around and go back down the way we went up because the road was closed on the other side

Mountain Creek Brittany Foundation Ride

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

It is getting to be “that time of year” again, and we are ready to ride! Weather permitting, we are going to pull out the Harley, and head down to Calhoun, GA to join in on the benefit ride for The Brittany Foundation Saturday, April 14th.

The Brittany Foundation is a non-profit organization created in honor of Brittany Mincy that raises funds and awareness for different children’s charities to benefit children with brain tumors and other life threatening illnesses.

If you are local to the area, and the thunderstorms take a hiatus, come ride with us. It is a great cause, and lots of fun will be had!

The ride will begin in the parking lot of Gordon Central High School in Calhoun. Registration begins at 8am and the first bike out is at 10am. There will be lunch provided. The ride ends at Mountain Creek Harley-Davidson in Dalton, and then more fun commences.

Starting at 12pm, enjoy the sounds of live music from Cross Plains and great food available from Outback Steakhouse. There will be a raffle, giveaways and good times had by all!

Here is the flyer from The Brittany Foundation with more information, contacts and route, and here is the newsletter from Mountain Creek Harley-Davidson, announcing the event.
